Novacain - 'Wasting Time' Single Review

Novacain are a 4 piece indie rock band from Portsmouth. The band consists of Andrew, Mike, Dan and Lloyd. 'Wasting Time' is their new single - out today - and it's a banger!

They say their influences are Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian and you can hear this in their songs.

The lyrics of 'Wasting Time' to me are about realising whats important in life and to stop worrying about things that aren't.

There's a strong start with the fast paced drums and a captivating guitar riff, brilliant vocals engage you further and the guitar solo makes you want to air guitar along.

It's definitely a song to have on repeat, to dance and sing along to.

This song should come with a warning that you're going to be singing "and all my life I've just been wasting time" all day.

'Wasting Time' ticks every box.

Waterparks - The Anti Tour Show Allow the self indulgence, but I'm going to write a review of my favourite band - Waterparks, who just did an online concert through Veeps last night - The Anti Tour Show (27th March). It's been just over a year since I last saw Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood live in London, and since this they've released two further singles 'Lowkey As Hell' and 'Snow Globe' which will feature on their new album 'Greatest Hits' out May 21st. 'Salem II' EP Review

'Salem II' EP Review Grace Calver Salem are front-vamp Will Gould (also of the band Creeper) and guitarist Matthew Reynolds, they burst onto the scene with The Apathy Ball and the release of their debut single 'Destroy Me' last year. Today (Friday 7th May) they release their second EP titled 'Salem II'. One of the main things I love about them and this EP is the imagery created with the lyrics and music. The lexical fields of vampires, love and darkness that can be found through all of the songs, paired with the gothic, theatrical and punky sound. There is an eerie start to this EP with the introduction of the first track; 'William, It Was Really Nothing' before the punchy guitars explode in. A nod to The Smiths' 'William, It Was Really Nothing', this song is a theatrical masterpiece - with dominating vocals supported by a stunning, gothic choir and powerful guitars.
